Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions buyers ask when choosing a bagging machine.
What is the difference between a valve bagger and an open mouth bagger?
A valve bagger fills a pre-made bag through a small sleeve in one corner, and the bag seals itself as it is filled. An open mouth bagger fills a bag through its fully open top, which is then sewn or heat sealed. Valve baggers are often faster and cleaner for fine powders, while open mouth baggers handle a wider range of products and closure styles.
Do you offer both new and used baggers?
Yes. Arnold Equipment Company buys and sells new and used industrial processing equipment, including baggers, stick pack machines, and other packaging equipment. Browse our current bagger inventory or send us the questionnaire and we will help you find the right fit.
What information do I need to choose the right bagger?
The most helpful details are your bag type and construction, the fill weight, your target production rate, and the characteristics of your product such as density, particle size, and how well it flows. Plant details like available voltage and compressed air also help us narrow the options.
How accurate is a bagging scale?
Accuracy depends on the product and the weighing method. As a general guide, mechanical weighing typically holds within about one half of one percent, while electronic weighing typically holds within about one quarter of one percent of the target weight.
Can a bagger handle sticky or hard to move products?
Yes, but products that do not flow freely often need special features such as agitators, auger feeders, or vibration to move material consistently. Let us know how your product behaves in the questionnaire so we can recommend a machine built for it.
What happens after I submit the questionnaire?
Our team reviews your answers and follows up by phone or email with bagger options that match your application. If we need more information about your product or plant, we will reach out with a few quick questions.
