Choosing a Dust Collector
A properly sized dust collector depends on the dust being collected, required airflow, collection points, and operating environment. Tell us about your application and we will help identify equipment that fits your needs.
How the Questionnaire Works
A few details about your dust, airflow, and plant environment are all we need to point you toward the right collector.
Describe Your Dust
Tell us what you are collecting, the process that creates it, and how the dust behaves.
Share Airflow Needs
Airflow, static pressure, pickup points, and duct size help us size the right collector.

Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions buyers ask when choosing a dust collector.
How do I know what airflow I need?
Required airflow, measured in CFM, depends on the number and size of pickup points, the duct size, and how much dust each point produces. If you do not know your CFM, list your pickup points and duct sizes and our team can help estimate it.
What is the difference between a cartridge collector and a baghouse?
Cartridge collectors use pleated filters that pack a lot of filter area into a compact housing and work well for fine, dry dust. Baghouses use long fabric bags and are often preferred for high dust loads, heavier particles, or higher temperatures.
What if my dust is combustible?
Combustible dust may require explosion venting, suppression, or isolation equipment, depending on the material and the installation. Tell us what you are collecting and select Unknown if you are not sure, so our team can factor this into the recommendation.
When is a HEPA or secondary filter needed?
A secondary or HEPA filter adds a final stage of filtration after the main filters. It is common when clean air is returned to the plant, or when the dust is very fine or a health concern.
Do you offer both new and used dust collectors?
Yes. We buy and sell new and used dust collectors, including cartridge collectors, baghouses, bin vents, and cyclones.
What happens after I submit the questionnaire?
Our team reviews your answers and follows up by phone or email with dust collector options that match your application. If we need more details, we will reach out with a few quick questions.
