Three Simple Steps

How the Questionnaire Works

A few details about your slurry, your process, and your press preferences are all we need to point you toward the right filter press.

STEP 01

Describe Your Slurry

Tell us what you are filtering, the solids concentration, particle size, temperature, and pH.

STEP 02

Define Your Process

Batch volume, cake goals, washing, squeezing, and drying needs help us narrow the options.

STEP 03

Get a Matched Recommendation

Our team reviews your answers and follows up with filter presses that fit your application.

Filter Press FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions buyers ask when choosing a filter press.

How is a filter press sized?

Sizing depends on the volume of solids you need to capture per cycle, the cake thickness, and how many cycles you can run per day. Solids concentration, batch volume, and particle size from the questionnaire give our team what it needs to estimate plate size and chamber volume.

What is the difference between recessed chamber and membrane plates?

Recessed chamber plates form the cake in the space between plates and are the most common style. Membrane plates add a flexible diaphragm that squeezes the cake after filling, which produces a drier cake and can shorten cycle times.

Do I need a hydraulic or automatic closure?

Manual closures are common on smaller presses. Hydraulic closures make it easier to reach consistent clamping pressure on larger presses, and automatic systems add features like plate shifting to reduce labor during cake discharge.

What pressure rating do I need?

Most standard filter presses are rated for 100 PSI. High pressure presses are rated up to 225 PSI and can produce drier cakes for some slurries. If you are not sure, select Unknown and our team will help.

Do you offer both new and used filter presses?

Yes. We buy and sell new and used filter presses, plates, and related filtration equipment in a wide range of sizes.

What happens after I submit the questionnaire?

Our team reviews your answers and follows up by phone or email with filter press options that match your application. If we need more details, we will reach out with a few quick questions.
